Customers Respect Courteous Service

For some people, it seems incredibly easy to offer courteous customer service. For others, it may be extremely difficult. People that are overly emotional may have trouble managing their emotions in a customer service position. Sometimes customers can be very demanding or rude, and as an employee, it can be difficult to continue being courteous.

When customer service employees are friendly and courteous to their customers, not only do they represent their company well, they may also brighten their customer’s day.

A lot of companies have some pre-recorded audio that will play when a customer calls, instructing them to press a certain button to obtain the information that they want. This audio needs to be recorded in a friendly manner, but that’s often not enough. Sometimes customers want to be able to ask a question to a representative right away rather than find their way through a pre-recorded audio maze. You need to know when your customers want to speak to a representative and offer them that service in a courteous fashion. If you are successful, you may notice that even your most unruly customers are showing more courtesy than usual in return.
